It's a Bird, It's a Plane,......It's Just a Kid!

This kid. Who is this kid?

This kid. Where did he come from?

This kid. Well what is all the buzz about this kid? C. J is his name and he is the new sensation in the fitness world. Believe it or not C.J is only ten years old, out of Georgia, and is already steering up buzz in fitness. C.J has had a passion for working out since he was just five years old. Being that he is too young to actually use weights; C.J sticks to the traditional exercises like sit-ups, push-ups, squats, and running. This kid already has a fitness video "C.J. The Workout Kid" which he gives away freely to other kids and young adults and as a result inspiring them to exercise and live an active lifestyle. This kid is already cut up and packing on a muscular body tone that is nearly way of ahead of his age, but he does not mind.

There are so many other incredible stories out there just like C.J’s who strive to live healthier and motivate those around them. I hope that stories like this inspire individuals at any age to want to get out and achieve more. So put that extra five minutes in your walk and transform it into a C.J walk, put a little more speed into your jog and transform it into a C.J jog. If a ten year old can be this excited to workout at an early age and actually enjoy it, then I think we all can set aside some time in our day to engage in a simple form of exercise.

There's An Excuse For Every Exercise...

We come up with the most irrational excuses for not exercising that in the end do not hurt anyone but ourselves. Work, busy lifestyle, errands to run, homework, etc. these are just some of the million of excuses that come up when you here the word 'exercise'.

This summer get out and train like a champion. Don't loose this time of beautiful weather to sit inside on the couch all day, make some plans and workout hard. Get motivated to want to live good and sustain a healthy mind and body. All it takes is twenty minutes a day of exercise to get in the excellent shape that you want to be in. Set goals and make sure that you are eating the right kinds of foods. The most critical aspect of any summer plans is to set goals. So if you are looking for a change in your abs, start now by setting time out to do one hundred reps of sit-ups a day for three weeks straight. Doesn't necessarily have to be sit-ups; simply alternate between abdominal workouts that suit you best. When it comes to eating ensure that you are eating the right meats, fruits, and vegetables to keep your calorie intake in line.

If you are looking for change, it starts from within. Get rid of the book of excuses and make your life young, strong, healthy, and last longer. Exercise, become the change you wish to see in the mirror each day or be motivation to your family members, friends, and co-workers.

America, Home Of The Obese!

All you can eat buffet's, unhealthy snack machines, caffeinated sodas of all types of flavors, lack of exercise these are just some of the reasons why Americans are considered obese. Two decades ago this would not have even been an issue, but within the last decade obesity has been on the rise. Yes, the food offered within the school system is a problem, but it is not the source. The lack of being active is the main source of this problem. Get out and get active, take a run at the park or through the city, ride a bicycle, hit the gym, or take a trip to the pool. Just get out and do something. The top five states in America that have the highest percentage of obese people are Mississippi, Alabama, West Virginia, Tennessee, and Louisiana. I'm glad to see there are such healthy initiatives out like the one First Lady Michelle Obama has started 'Lets Move'. The initiative is solving the problem of obesity within a generation, so that children born today will grow up healthier and able to pursue their dreams.

The moral of this story is that everyone has a role to play, wake up and get actively involved in our communities, jobs, and with ourselves if we want to see a healthier America.

Save your Brain, Before It's Too Late!

When we measure our health, we take in the equation of healthy eating + exercise = 'healthy body'. Wrong! Did you know that the most efficient and most effective way of ensuring proper health is workingout your mental muscle "The Brain." As we age the brain slowly decreases in its ability to retain information that seemed so easy to retain when we were younger. Therefore, with the proper mental maintenance the mental muscle will last.

Maintain your brain by staying mentally active. Play a game of Sudoku or crossword in your morning paper. Test yourself, attack one of the various brain games that are offered on the Nintendo Wii.

Stay socially active; get out there and enjoy the nightlife. This is the pass for you to go out and enjoy the club scene. And if that is not for you grab some friends, shoes and bowling balls, check out the the lanes an hit a few strikes.

Stay physically active by running a few miles, mountain climb, grab a ball and shoot some hoops or play a round of tennis at the nearest recreational center.

Be sure to occasionally put aside all the fun and games to take time for tasting a great smoothie or green tea. Stress reduces; take a bite of a fish fillet sandwich and relax. Maintaining a appetite for healthy foods that provide essential nutrients and vitamins will help strenghten the brain.

To clear this all up, maintain your brain because a fit mind leads to a healthy life.
